Eskimo! Heather Duke underlined a lot of things in this copy of Moby Dick, but I believe the word ``Eskimo'' underlined all by itself, is the key to understanding Heathers pain. On the surface, Heather Duke was the vivacious young lady we all knew her to be, but her soul was in Antartica! Freezing with the knowledge of the way fellow teenagers can be cruel, the way that parents can be unresponsive. And as she writes so elequently in her suicide note, the way that life can suck! We'll all miss Sherwoods little eskimo. Lets just hope she's rubbing noses with Jesus!

Eskimo is Mackenzie Dahl.

...It’s all so well done. The instruments flare and subdue at the right time and the songs flow from start to finish...--raw42 (selected spring '99 standout artist)
..Excellent.. You can tell he spent allot of time fine tuning these songs... --DJ Perfekt.
Eskimo has a very unique sound. He's is not afraid to try new and interesting things. You have to listen to Eskimo...--John Armstrong, JTronic.com

Eskimo was started in 1997 as an offshoot of Beyond Within. The plan was to expand on some textures and concepts previously untried in BW. The sound was thicker, more complex and was looking to have a much colder edge with a warmer aura. The concept worked, and "Colder Still" was finished in 1998.

The album was completed with 11 tracks, spanning from down-tempo beats to broken jungleism. A 12 track, "Reshade of Topaz" could not fit to the standard redbook pressing of Audio CD's and was shelved for a second EP. Many other tracks never made the cut.

1998 the song "Oliptus" was featured on a promotional compilation released by MP3.com as a standout artist. In 1999 again "Oliptus" was featured on the KSM Compilation "Black Planet". In it's subsequent remaster and cutdown second release, Oliptus is still featured. "A backhanded slap followed with a compliment" Thank you.

Later in 2000 various songs were loaned for corporate use in promotional settings. "Reshade of Topaz" was featured in a BBC production for Scream Films.

The eskimo project went dormant in 2001.

Lack of studio space, loss of hearing and children were the nail in the coffin for Mr Dahl..

Although, there is tomorrow........
