Beyond Within began in 1994 with Mackenzie Dahl and Randy Manion.
Originally an electronic noise band, Beyond Within soon became one of the most interesting, if not the only techno-industrial bands in Seattle. Signed to local label Manifest Records (home of Christ Analogue), Beyond Within released "The Tepal Concept in 1995. Reviews were few but favorable. Live shows were done about every two months to a very confused crowd.
Immediately after the release of Tepal, Mac and Randy began the second album, "Synapse Sessions". Synapse was never officially completed. Manifest Records folded after Christ Analogue was signed to Reconstriction/ Cargo.
Beyond Within was left homeless. For greener pastures, Mac and Randy relocated to Denver is search of a better electronic scene.
Talks began with WAXTRAX! shortly after, but fell through due to strife and conflict. Beyond Within was dead on arrival. Randy Manion began Subphase, and Mackenzie has gone to eskimo.
But alas, all is not lost. It seems that some people are still looking for BW, and for them there is BW stuff in the audio section. (all rejoice)
